The first class “flu”

We both got it šŸ™

Probably due to a combination of factors: too much fun in the lounge and in the beginning of the flight, too short of a flight (ie not enough sleep), and the fact that we had to get off the plane at 3:00 am Singapore time.

We both felt “like ass” (Justin’s words) getting off the plane and grabbed our barf bags for the first time.

Luckily, we are starting to feel human again. Ā Our next flight leaves in about an hour.

No pictures this post…..we are not looking too good :-/

Next stop…Australia

We are currently in the Emirates lounge, which is what Qantas is using while their first class lounge is being renovated. It is very nice.

Alyce has already proclaimed that she will be changing in to her pajamas “toot sweet” as soon as we get on the plane, which she then attempted to make less nerdy – but not by much – by changing it to “in a jiffy” after I gave her a confused look.

Anyway, here are some pictures.

Good bye Hong Kong… Hello Japan.

We’re at Hong Kong airport in the Cathay Pacific lounge waiting for our flight to Osaka where we’ll catch a bus to kyoto. We have a one hour delay but that’s not a problem since our flight is non stop. Hopefully I’ll have some time to work on the Hong Kong wrap on the flight.Ā 20130116_091217

Update: we’re glad or flight was delayed. The lounge here is very very nice.Ā 20130116_09362620130116_09363820130116_09365820130116_09371420130116_093741

The flight to Hong Kong

I’m writing this with three hours left on my flight, and I’ve never been so disappointed to only have three hours left on a flight.Ā  The experience in Cathay Pacific first class has literally been unbelievable….and I had thought that I had a pretty good idea of what to expect.

From New Orleans, we flew to Chicago on a regional jet in first class, which was nice but nothing like international first/business.Ā  Basically it is what you see on all domestic flights: the seat is a little wider, there is a little more leg room, and the drinks/snacks are free.

We did not really take advantage of the snacks and just drank some coffee.Ā  The flight attendant was surprised that we didn’t want anything, but nothing really caught our attention.Ā  The flight attendant also noted that the shopping would be very good in Hong Kong and Singapore…Something he seemed very excited about.Ā  Anyway, he was a nice guy.
