Rain rain, go away! It was a pretty yucky day in Paris today!
After breakfast, we decided to hit the highlights: The Arc de Triomphe and The Eiffel Tower.
We walked along the Champs Élysées and tried to stay dry. It wasn’t very cold unless the wind was blowing strongly. I enjoy walking around Paris much more than London. There is just something so special about this city.
We made it to the Arc de Triomphe and took lots of pictures. Next, we headed towards the Eiffel Tower. The rain started coming down a little stronger, but it was still manageable.
We saw the Tower and took some pictures. We decided not to go up to the top, but I enjoyed just walking around the outside. It’s pretty surreal to see something in person that you have seen a million times in pictures.
After that, we took the subway back to the hotel……nap time! Justin walked around some more with his tripod and saw a few more sights.
For dinner, we ate at the restaurant Spring. The chef is an American from Chicago named Daniel Rose. It seems that Spring has become a foodie destination for Americans in Paris.
They don’t give you a menu. There is a 4 course tasting meal…..2 starters, an entree, and a dessert. Everything was very good, but nothing really “wowed” me. Also, the music selection was somewhat strange. They were still playing Christmas music, along with Elvis, Johnny Cash and other selections that I never would have imagined would be in a restaurant in Paris. Out of the 3 dinners we have had so far, this was probably my least favorite.
We had a nice, but chilly walk back to the hotel.
