Yesterday was our first full day exploring the city. First, we took the Star Ferry to Kowloon and walked around. There are so so many shops/malls/markets that it is amazing!! It was really incredible to see all the people and experience the action.
We stopped at Simpson Sin’s (a tailor), and Justin got fitted for a custom made suit and shirt. On Tuesday, we will go back for his final fitting. That was really cool. The people at the shop were so nice. Justin heard about it from Anthony Bourdain. After that, we walked through the “ladies” market. Here, they have hundreds of booths selling fake designer purses, clothes etc.
After that, we took the subway to the racecourse and saw a few horse races.
For dinner, we ate at Kau Kee. It is a really tiny restaurant! They sat us at a table with 4 other locals. We both ordered a brisket and noodle soup. They brought the food in under 5 minutes. It was very good, spicy, and hot! Just what I was looking for since I was chilly all day.
I LOVE this blog!!!! I want to hear Justin speak Cantonese! And how they use to make fun of their Dad for using his accent!! Is he having the suit shipped home?Looking forward to more!!!
xxoo
I think Justin has room in his backpack for the suit. I don’t think we will be shipping anything home yet. I glad you like the blog! Hopefully, we should get some new posts up today!
The posts are great. Please keep them coming when possible.
I also bought a custom tailored suit when I was in Kowloon. Bell bottom leg pants and all. That was a very long time ago. I remember all the shops there and how unbelievably cheep everything was. So what did you buy Alyce? Are you shipping the suit home? I hope Justin told them to leave a little extra room otherwise by the time ya’ll get back it might be a little snug.
Have fun and be careful.
Love,
DAD
Justin goes for his final fitting today! Hopefully, it’s not too tight already. We had a big meal in Macau yesterday! I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m looking……!
Hey Alyce and Justin
I also love this blog. It’s so nice seeing and hearing all about your trip so far. I would also love to hear Justin speak Cantonese. Hope to see more soon. Love you both! Be safe! Mom xxxooo
